09A Temporally Coherent X-ray Diffraction

Scientific Scope

The beamline is designed for time-resolved X-ray scattering studies of structural dynamics of materials, temporal coherent X-ray studies of high resolution X-ray diffraction, and high resolution powder diffraction studies at different non-ambient states. The beamline can provide powerful tools to study materials structures, functioning, synthesis, and design under various physical, chemical, and biological conditions and can probe static and dynamic atomic structures with ultrahigh temporally coherent X-rays.

Beamline Description

There are three time-sharing operating modes in the experimental end station: 

Mode 1 : Temporally coherent X-ray diffraction, ultra-high energy resolution. 

Mode 2 : Time-resolved X-ray scattering with pulse duration ~30 ps and general X-ray diffraction.

Mode 3 : High resolution powder X-ray diffraction and in-situ ms time-resolved powder X-ray diffraction.
