15A Micro-crystal X-ray diffraction

With a highly brilliance micro-focus X-ray beam, 15A aims to determine 3D crystal structures from micro-scale single crystals and non-ambient conditions.

SCIENTIFIC SCOPE

SCIENTIFIC OPPORTUNITIES

  • Challenging difficult crystal
  • Metastable state structure
  • Photo-induced structure
  • Non-ambient conditions on crystal structure
  • Pump-probe (time-resolved) structure

I. Mono beam mode

II. Pink beam mode

CORE EXPERIMENTAL TECHNIQUES

  • Single crystal X-ray diffraction
  • Laue diffraction
  • Sub-nanosecond to sub-microsecond time-resolved structural information
  • Micro-beam diffraction
  • Non-ambient technique with diamond anvil cell

UNIQUE FEATURES

  • Micro-size chemical crystal structural determination
  • Non-ambient crystal structural characterization:
         - photo-excitation
         - high pressure (Up to 20 GPa )
         - ultra low temperature (15 K )
  • Pink beam Laue diffraction
  • Sub-nanosecond to micro-second pump-probe single crystal X-ray diffraction
